Fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, Calvin Lau is a Trilingual Emcee based in Hong Kong who worked for local and international brands, such as West Kowloon Cultural District, Hong Kong Arts Development Council, Sun Hung Kai Properties, Nan Fung Group, Hong Kong Tourism Board, Mercedes Benz China Fashion Week, Fuji Xerox, and Sen by Kim Robinson, held at major event venues including TV studios, theatres, malls, coliseums, and exhibition centres.
Calvin is also a Voiceover Artist in his three most comfortable languages for multinational corporations, including the UK Government, HKSAR Government, International Maritime Organisation, HSBC, Prudential, and Manulife.
In Summer 2017, Calvin was invited to join the production crew of FX American Anthology TV Series ‘Trust’ in London as a voice-over artist and work with Academy Honorary Award winner and Hollywood actor Donald Sutherland as his Mandarin Dialect Coach. He also delivered Mandarin language coaching for British TV Series ‘Humans’ Season 3.
After completing his Masters degree in Global Media & Transnational Communications in London, Calvin has branched out into hosting television programmes on Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK). He is a regular TV Presenter for one of Radio 1's most popular medical discussion phone-in programme that has run for over 20 years, "Healthpedia", featuring guest experts and doctors and exploring different health and wellness topics live every weekday afternoon. Previously, he hosted "Tutor Online 2020" live at the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak, and the long-running "Primary School Quiz".
Working as a Radio Presenter predominantly on RTHK, Calvin has hosted a two-hour Sunday music show in Mandarin on RTHK Putonghua Channel since 2013, reaching households in Greater China and the global Chinese communities with his unique music choices.
Having participated in various concerts, television, radio and multimedia programmes, all on a massive scale involving an audience of over ten thousand, Calvin is also experienced in event and media production of wide-ranging genres.
